Welcome to the Durham Belt Line website. The Durham Belt Line is made up of a number of individually owned HO Scale modules. In January 2002, a group of Durham Region model railroaders got together and decided that it was time to begin creation of a brand new modular model railroad layout. With the advances in Model Railroad Digital Control it was determined that a fully operational point to point layout could be designed and operated at a show. The goal was to show the audience that a railroad does not need to go in a continuous loop to be enjoyable.

The first module set was designed, the Town of Blackwater, and Steve Feek began to build those two modules. The Town of Backwater is used as a test bed for all of the the Belt Line ideas. For details about Backwater look in the Modules section for a link to photos and track plans.

The Gallery will have a number of photos from show appearances, meetings and anything else that is not a module photo. These will be sorted so that it will be easy to find the newest photos first.

The Durham Belt Line is always looking for new members. If you live in Southern Ontario and would like to come down and visit with us one evening feel free to email the webmaster and he will schedule a time to visit.

Also, members of the Belt Line can also join http://groups.yahoo.com/durhambeltline to get up to date information on the Belt Line including upcoming events
